Oh hey! I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m a member of the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra. I’m in the choir. We’re pretty awesome. We’re going to be playing MAGFest in January and we’re definitely stoked.
Do you want to know what we’re also excited about? Our upcoming album! We’ve just launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund our first album. It’d be so awesome if you could contribute. If you can’t contribute, that’s cool too. Just spread the word!
Look! A pitch video! (Eagle-eyed viewers may be able to spot me in the background.)

*Plz feel free to add other good news (even if it’s something small like you ate cheesecake THAT is good news)
This is a gorgeous post, everyone should reblog it to see the balancing side to the whole bad things happening in the world!
since nobody has a supermajority in either the house or the senate, and establishment republicans REALLY don’t like trump, there’s going to be 4 more years of absolute gridlock in D.C. and, god willing, nothing’s going to get done, including all the ridiculous bullshit trump’s said he’s going to do, because congress will stonewall him at every turn
The party with the president tends to lose seats at midterm elections, so if we get out and vote we’re almost certain to end up with a Democrat Supermajority in the House and majority in the Senate (although fuck gerrymandering).
Also you’re seriously going to have to care about state and local governments, because given DC gridlock if you want minimum wage increases, police accountability, college loan fixes, lead kept out of your water and all the other things we need yesterday, not four years from now, those are the people who are going to be in a position to make it happen.
Look into your state/county/city governments (incl water, school boards, police commissioners, county recorder, researching any judges that are up for reelection) and elected officials. If you have an issue, there’s almost certainly someone outside the federal government whose job it is to do what the people want about it. Also the fact that locals are accountable to a smaller group of people means your vote and voice are a lot more significant to them, especially if you show up to town meetings and stuff - write letters to them, post your opinion of what they do on facebook and let them know you’re doing that.
